All five bands in the “Ticket to Blues Fest” competition rocked the house, but the people chose their pick to open the 21^st Annual Sarasota Blues Fest this year: The Selwyn Birchwood Band. Gainesville southern rockers, Local Traffic, were the runners up.

The Selwyn Birchwood Band wowed the Gator Club crowd with 30 minutes of pure blues. And after winning the competition, the band came back on stage for an encore performance lasting well into the wee hours of Sunday morning, the crowd swaying and dancing the whole time.
