About the Miramar Air Show

The Miramar Airshow is an airshow held in October at MCAS Miramar in San Diego, California. It is a major stop on the airshow circuit featuring civilian and military aircraft with a demonstration by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels. Highlights of the three day event include;

• The Miramar Air Show will be honoring the 65th Anniversary of the Battle of Iwo Jima with the theme, "Marines: A Tradition of Uncommon Valor."
• The Canadian Forces Snowbirds jet demonstration squadron
• Saturday night Twilight air show with a Spectacular Fireworks display and a grand finale with over a 2000' Wall of Fire!
• USMC demonstration team that demonstrates Marine Air and Ground tactics by simulating a full-on assault of the airfield to include dynamic live explosions.

In 2007, the Miramar Air Show was voted the "World's Best Military Air Show" by the International Council of air Show. It was the third time this award has been given to the Miramar Air Show.
